GAHAR, established in 2018, is the first organisation in Egypt, the second in Africa, and the third in the Middle East to be awarded the ISQua accreditation.
The evaluation included the headquarters of GAHAR in Cairo and its branches in the governorates of Port said, Luxor, Ismailia, Suez, and South Sinai.
GAHAR was awarded the accreditation certificate of ISQua this week as an External Evaluation Organisation for Healthcare Facilities, becoming one of 40 external evaluation organisations receiving this certificate worldwide.
During the evaluation process, the international assessors of ISQua reviewed the administrative, financial, technical, information technology, and service provision systems of GAHAR.
The process included reviewing more than 450 documents reflecting the strategic and operational plans of GAHAR and conducting interviews with GAHAR leaders and employees.
Chairman of GAHAR Ashraf Ismail stated that the award is the culmination of efforts reflecting GAHAR’s strategic vision of building a modern governmental organisation operating according to the highest international standards.
He added that the fact that GAHAR is an independent authority under the general supervision of the presidency of Egypt ensures dealing objectively and uniformly with the different partners in the Universal Health Insurance System.
ISQua’s tests included 95 measures in eight excellence standards: governance, strategic, financial, and operational planning, risk management and quality improvement, human resources management, information management, surveyors management, survey visits and customer management, and accreditation and certification.
