Cairo - Mubasher: Dr. Ahmed El Sobky, President of the Public Authority for Health Care, Assistant Minister of Health and Population, General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, received Neeraj Mishra, CEO of Alameda Healthcare Group, at the authority’s headquarters in Nasr City.
The meeting discussed means of exchanging experiences and enhancing cooperation between the two parties in the areas of patient care and advanced medical solutions, as well as exchanging experiences and cooperation in the field of medical tourism and providing health care to arrivals to Egypt for the purpose of medical tourism, according to a press release issued today, Saturday.
Ahmed El Sobky pointed out that Egypt possesses all the ingredients and capabilities that place it among the leading countries in the field of medical tourism.
The meeting reviewed the capabilities of the Health Care Authority hospitals in the governorates of the comprehensive health insurance system, and the distinguished medical and treatment services they provide that are comparable to international standards, and their equipment with the latest medical equipment, and their development with services and hotel suites, and continuous training for medical and nursing staff, and their inclusion of health care experts and consultants, and their achievements in obtaining on international credits; All of this is to enable it to implement the largest medical tourism programs in its hospitals, especially in the tourist governorates in which the system is applied, led by Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital in South Sinai Governorate, and Karnak International Hospital in Luxor Governorate.
The meeting reviewed the successes of the Health Care Authority in medical insurance for international conferences and events, the most important of which is medical insurance for the COP27 Climate Conference, which Egypt hosted in Sharm El-Sheikh from November 6-18, 2022, and many heads of state and important personalities in the world participated in it, in addition to Its successes in harvesting many Arab and international awards and certificates, most notably the Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital’s obtaining a certificate of international recognition from the Global Green Hospitals Network “GGHH”, as well as obtaining the Diamond Award equally with Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in the green hospitals category, in addition to the victory of the Care Authority The health department won the golden award jointly with the Department of Health Abu Dhabi in leading health sustainability at the level of the Arab world, and seeking to obtain JCI and TEMOS accreditations to enhance its competition with Arab and international medical centers.
He pointed out the importance of strengthening cooperation with the private sector to promote the development of the medical tourism sector in Egypt, laying the foundations for cooperation and exchanging expertise, knowledge and successful experiences, and cooperation to introduce medical tourism areas that qualify them to be among the most important distinguished areas in the world in this type of tourism in light of what it has made available. Comprehensive health insurance system to provide and improve quality medical services, and develop implementable plans and strategies with the aim of promoting health facilities to attract the attention of tourists wishing for treatment, stressing that Egypt and its tourist governorates have sufficient ingredients to become a distinguished destination for medical tourism and its ability to compete.
Ahmed Al-Sobky hinted that the Health Care Authority possesses many tools that guarantee the provision of advanced health care programs in the field of medical tourism, especially due to its presence in some tourist governorates, which were developed with the launch of the brand “We Care in Egypt”, which guarantees treatment with the latest health care systems globally. In the hospitals of the Authority, the arm of the Egyptian state in providing comprehensive health insurance services, and opening the doors to competition in the medical tourism markets, with the possibility of treating a large number of expatriates wishing to be treated from African countries and the region.
Al-Sobky continued: The coming period will witness development, expansion, and an increase in the number of the Authority’s hospitals in the touristic governorates, such as “St. Catherine, Taba, and Dahab” hospitals in South Sinai, to enhance its capabilities and expand its geographical presence to be more attractive to medical tourism under the umbrella of its brand “We take care of you in Egypt.” As well as focusing on revitalizing and marketing the brand in order to achieve an increase in the economic growth of the authority, and an increase in its return from its own resources for the continuity of upgrading the level of services, and as a tool for the state to increase its foreign exchange resources.
He pointed out the importance of encouraging an increase in the volume of investment in the field of medical tourism in Egypt, especially as it is rich in the elements that qualify it to become a global destination in medical tourism, and that this is among the priorities of economic growth in it.
Sobky expressed his pride in the great achievements made by the health care sector, both public and private, that contributed to strengthening Egypt's tourism capabilities, stressing: We spare no effort to provide innovative and modern health care services that are in line with international standards, and that the strategy adopted by the authority mainly aims to increase Growth rates, which contribute to strengthening the authority's capabilities and achieving its vision on which it operates, which is to provide an advanced model of health care in Egypt with international quality, and within the framework of the country's strategy to make Egypt a primary destination for medical tourism in accordance with Egypt's Vision 2030.
